Collaboration

Since 2008, Cartier has invited international artists to freely interpret the theme of passionate love with the single question “how far would you go for love?”, recalling the symbolic power of the Love bracelet.
“Painted Love” is a unique work, the result of a collaboration between exceptional contemporary artists: the French duo Air, American director Ben Dickinson from the Waverly collective and illustrator Irina Dakeva. This subtle blend of different sensibilities and horizons has converged to tell the story of an impossible meeting between a New York artist and his muse, giving a modern twist to the story of Pygmalion and Galatea. The smooth bass of French duo Air gives rhythm to the film's amorous tensions, which are intensely visualised with a delicate combination of filmed footage and animations created using original hand-drawn illustrations.
